Start Using iFonebox for Mac

iFonebox for Mac is a superb iOS data recovery software for you to get lost or deleted data either from iOS devices iPhone, iPad, iPod, or recover from iTunes backup.

Part 1: Directly recover from iPhone, iPad, iPod

iFonebox for Mac supports scanning directly from various iOS device iPhone 5S/5C/5/4S/4/3GS, The New iPad1/2/3/4,iPad air, /iPad Mini1/2 , iPod touch 4& iPod touch 5 to recover the data including contacts, messages, notes, calendar, call history, Safari bookmarks and reminders.

Step 1: Launch iFonebox for Mac and Connect iOS devices with Mac

After install the software, launch it and connect your iOS device to Mac with USB cable. Choose “Recover from iOS Device” as the way of recovery.

Step2 : Start scanning iOS device

After clicking the “Recover from iOS Device”, iFonebox for Mac will start scanning your iOS device to analyze the data in your Apple device and find out your deleted and lost data. The progress bar shows the scanning process, and the scan time depends on the number of your database.

Step 3: Preview and Recover data selectively

When the scan finishes, the list of data include Camera Roll, Photo Stream, Contacts, Messages, Message Attachment, Call history, Calendar, Reminders, Notes, Voice Memos, Safari Bookmark is showed on the top of the interface. Click the categories you want to preview and click the “Recover” button to recover all the data on your Mac.
Tip: If you only want to preview and recover the deleted data, check the option “Only display the deleted items”; check the option “Uncheck All” to deselect all files.

Step 4 Transfer deleted Contacts back to device

If you want to directly recover deleted or lost Contacts back to device. The latest version can support that. Click “Contacts” on the categories bar and then choose these contacts you need. Then click “transfer all selected to device” button on the bottom on the interface to transfer deleted Contacts to your device.

Tip: Before recovering them to your device, you could do some edit on them. Choose one Contacts and click “Edit” button on the right bottom of the interface to edit the detailed contents of the contacts like name, Tell, Birthday, etc.

Part 2: Recover from iTunes Backup

iFonebox for Mac allows you to retrieve and restore your video, photo, Contacts, Messages, Message attachments, Call history, Calendar, Notes, Reminder, Safari bookmark, Voice memos on your Mac. Just with few clicks, you could finish the process.

Step 1: Choose an iTunes Backup and start scanning

Run iFonebox for Mac; click “Recover from iTunes Backup” on the main interface.
All of the iTunes backup files which have ever synced with iTunes on your Mac could be automatically found and listed in the program.step two

Double click the iTune backup you wan to recover or click the “Start Scan” button to start scanning.

Tip: If your iTunns backup is not displayed on the program, it is probably because you have not synced your iOS device with iTunes on this Mac.

Step 2: Preview and recover the iTunes backup data

After the program automatically extract your data from the scan result, camera roll, photo stream, contacts, messages, call history, calendar, notes, etc could be displayed on the interface. Preview the tabs you want. Then click the “Recover” button at the top-left to save them on your Mac.

Tip: If you only want to get deleted files back, please check “Only display deleted items” to list deleted files only. It can help you save your time and you can easily restore the deleted files. If the “Only display deleted items” option is grayed out, it means you can only backup existing files in that section. Nothing can be recovered there.

Part 3: How to Recover Files Under DFU Mode (iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4 Only)

Compatible Devices: iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4

PS: DFU Mode could help you to extract your data even you forget the password of your iOS device, the devices crashed when jailbreaking, etc.

Step 1: Run iFonebox for Mac and connect your iOS Device

Run iFonebox for Mac after installing it on Mac. Then connect your iOS device to Mac with the USB cable. You will see the interface below:
Click “Advanced Mode” button and you will enter the interface as follows:

1. Click “Start” button in the window and then hold the power button and Home button on your iPhone for 10 seconds. The count-down time shows up in the window.
2. After 10 seconds, the screen of your iOS device turns black. Release the power button and keep holding the Home button for another 10 seconds until the message “You have successfully entered DFU mode, now you can release the Home button” shows on the window of the software.

Step 2: Select Files

After activating the DFU mode on your iOS device, the software will automatically start the deep scan of the iOS device.
The scan may take a while, and after the scan, the categories of files that you are able to recover will be shown in the left sidebar. Check the category or certain files in the category to recover.
